A state of anticipation prevails in the governmental circles in line with the imminent implementation of the decision stipulating the reduction of petroleum products subsidies at the beginning of next July. This is one of the conditions necessary for Egypt to obtain $4.8 billion from the International Monetary Fund.

After seven months of assuming the chairmanship of the Petroleum Corporation, Engineer Sherif Hassan Ramadan Haddara becomes the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources in the new cabinet reshuffle replacing Engineer Osama Kamal.
It is worth mentioning that Haddara is born on the 20th of October, 1953, and received the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Cairo University in 1976. He served as the deputy chairman and the managing director of the Egyptian-German Company for Pumps. He has distinguished international experience and high efficiency in management and projects’ implementation.
The new minister taught in a group of courses in 1995 which included courses of designing and constructing oil reservoirs in some Gulf States. In addition, he supervised several projects in the bachelor’s degree and taught in a group of Egyptian universities as well as the Arab Academy for Technology and Maritime Transport. Moreover, he worked as an engineer in the Arab Company for Oil Pipelines “Somed “and graded in leadership positions till he reached the post of the Technical Engineering General Manager within the period from 1976 to 2008.
