The General Authority for the Economic Zone of the Suez Canal held a ceremony honouring Engineer / Yahya Zaki, in the presence of Mr. Walid Gamal El-Din, President of the Economic Zone of the Suez Canal, the deputies and assistants of the Chairman of the Authority, and a group of the authority’s leaders and employees, to honour the former head of the Authority, for what he had done During his presidency (3 years).
The achievements of the former president of the Authority included amending the executive regulations of the authority’s law, issuing a unified customs guide, launching a partnership with the European Bank to digitize investor services, and taking care of the green hydrogen file, which paved the way for the signing of 16 memoranda of understanding to establish various projects in this sector, so that these memoranda turn into actual contracts. It is hoped that this will be achieved at the COP27 Climate Summit, which will be held next November in Sharm El-Sheikh.
At the upcoming Cop27 climate conference, the Suez Canal Economic Zone hopes to sign deals worth $25 billion for green energy. The economic zone recently signed deals worth $31 billion across seven initial agreements related to low-carbon hydrogen and ammonia.
