The world is awaiting the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), which will be held from November 30 to December 12 of this year in Expo City Dubai, in order to make tangible progress on global climate action and give a major impetus to international efforts seeking to implement the pledges and commitments to confront climate change.

Under the slogan “We unite, work, and achieve”; Through COP28, the UAE looks forward to cooperating with all countries of the world and all concerned parties to achieve the best results in global climate action for the benefit of future generations.

António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, says that the world does not have the luxury of time to protect the climate, and the need to work to achieve climate justice, stressing that the summit that will be held in the UAE is a “climate ambition summit,” calling on countries and all active parties to join efforts to protect climate change and improving the living conditions of developing and most affected countries and communities.

To ensure the success of the conference, the UAE is working to achieve the broadest participation in the summit activities through invitations addressed by the President, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to the leaders of countries, to enrich the agenda of this prominent global event.

A higher national committee was also formed, headed by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, to supervise the preparations for the Conference of the Parties, create equal opportunities for everyone’s participation in finding effective climate solutions, and benefit from the conference as a distinguished platform to enhance the UAE’s precedence and leadership in the climate action process to achieve sustainable economic development.
