Egypt: The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources discusses enhancing Lukoil’s activities in Egypt

Engineer Tarek El-Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, received Mr. Ivan Romanovski, Vice President of the Russian company Lukoil for the Americas, Africa and Europe, to discuss the company’s current investments in a number of concession areas to search for oil and gas in Egypt in the eastern and western deserts and its future work plans, and to discuss opportunities to enhance the company’s activities and investments.

The meeting witnessed a review of the company’s current concession areas, which included the area west of the Esh Almallaha , and the extensions of the development of West of it, in which it participates with the Egyptian Tharwa Petroleum Company at a rate of 50% for each party, as well as the region of Maliha in the Western Desert, in which it participates in a share of 24%, along with Eni. Engineer Tariq Al-Mulla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, confirmed that the relations of cooperation and partnership between the petroleum sector and Lukoil have been extended for a long time and witnessed the achievement of joint successes, pointing out that there are many promising and motivating opportunities for the company to enhance its activities in the search for oil and gas in new concession areas.

For his part, Lukoil Vice President for the Americas, Africa and Europe reviewed the work plans and programs implemented by the company, which include its three concession areas in Egypt, stressing that Lukoil seeks to strengthen its presence in Egypt through partnership in new concession areas, and also touched on some areas of cooperation.
