China-Kazakhstan pipeline transports 6 million tons in first half of this year

PetroChina West pipeline Company announced that the oil pipeline between China and Kazakhstan transferred 5.59 million tons of crude oil to China in the first half of this year 2019.

With a total length of 2,800 kilometers, the pipeline runs from Atyrau to Atasu in Kazakhstan, runs through the Alataw Mountains and is connected to PetroChina Dushanzi Petrochemical Company, one of China’s largest petrochemical producers in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The pipeline, which has been in operation for 13 years, transferred a total of 126 million tons of crude oil to China by 30 June 2019.

The pipeline that links China and Kazakhstan not only helped expand China’s crude oil import channels, but also helped diversifying Kazakhstan’s crude oil exports and promote energy cooperation between China and countries along the belt and road.
