LNG throughput volumes at the Dutch Gate terminal dropped 24 percent in the first half of this year as compared to the same period a year before, according to data released by the Port of Rotterdam on Thursday.
The throughput volumes (incoming and outgoing) fell to 861,000 tonnes of LNG, the data showed.
Gate received 579,000 tonnes of the chilled fuel in the January-June period, down 26 percent as compared to 2015.
To remind, Gate LNG’s throughput volumes were 73 percent lower in the first quarter at 142,000 tonnes of LNG.
However, the numbers improved as the terminal increased the incoming volumes ten-fold in the second quarter as compared to 56,000 tonnes in the quarter before.
LNG re-exports from Gate dropped 20 percent to 282,353 tonnes in the first half, the data showed.
