At QatarEnergy’s headquarters in Doha, in the presence of Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs and CEO of QatarEnergy, and senior executives from G-Gas, QatarEnergy signed a 20-year direct agreement to supply 100 million cubic feet of helium annually from Qatar’s state-of-the-art facilities in Ras Laffan to the Chinese company G-Gas.
Minister Al-Kaabi expressed his enthusiasm for the agreement, saying: “China is a major market and destination for Qatari helium, and we are very pleased to enter into this long-term direct partnership with G-Gas as we help meet the growing demand for helium in China and around the world.”
Qatar is one of the world’s largest helium exporters, and plans to double its helium production capacity through the North Field LNG expansion projects, supporting various sectors that rely on helium. G-Gas is a leading industrial gas company in China with a history of more than 50 years in air separation units, gas storage and distribution, and gas application solutions.
Helium is an essential material for fields such as scientific research, medical technology, high-tech manufacturing, space exploration, and defense industries.
