The National Iranian Gas Company has processed over 158 billion cubic meters of natural gas since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2014).
Planning director of the NIGC, Hassan Montazer-Torbati said that the figure has increased by 16 bcm, showing a 12 percent rise, compared to the same period last year.
“The growth led to a 10-bcm rise in gas delivery to power plants, which reduced consumption of liquid fuels by the same amount,” he stated.
Torbati also added that Iran has exported 8 bcm of gas during the aforementioned period, showing 10% increase from a year ago.
