Bahrain to build a huge solar energy project with a capacity of 72 megawatts

The Kingdom of Bahrain announced the signing of agreements for a new solar energy project aiming to generate 72 megawatts.

The project will contribute 28% of the total renewable energy that Bahrain aims to produce by 2025, amounting to 250 megawatts.

Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, says that the project falls within the initiatives of the National Renewable Energy Plan, and it comes to emphasize the importance of expanding the use of solar energy in order to preserve the environment and sustain resources.

The project is in line with the Kingdom’s trend to adopt renewable energy and activate the use of clean energy to reduce traditional energy consumption and preserve the environment, which will enhance the Kingdom’s efforts in supporting sustainable development.
