Helium is an essential component in many advanced fields and technologies, including MRI, semiconductor manufacturing, quantum computing, fiber optics, and space exploration.
Recently, QatarEnergy signed a long-term sale and purchase agreement with Germany’s Messier to supply 100 million cubic feet of helium annually from Qatar to global markets.
The agreement was signed during a ceremony held under the patronage of His Excellency Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs, President and CEO of QatarEnergy, and in the presence of Bernd Olitz, Global CEO of Messier, and a number of senior executives from both companies.
This agreement is the first direct long-term contract between QatarEnergy and Messier, the largest private industrial gases company.
The Minister of State for Energy Affairs said: “Messer is a leading global supplier of helium and enjoys a solid reputation. We are pleased to conclude our first direct agreement with Messier and to continue supplying high-quality helium gas to the world through reliable partners.” Minister Al-Kaabi added: “This agreement reflects QatarEnergy’s commitment to providing reliable resources from one of the world’s largest helium producers to support numerous industries around the world.”
